A fresh Stan Wawrinka could prove best bet in Paris this week at 16/1 with conditions in his favour

The Final week of the ATP season and we have an excellent tournament in prospect. We are in Bercy for the BNP Paribas Masters1000 Paris indoors.

Conditions are on the slow side in Bercy which has always favoured the 3 x Defending Champion Novak Djokovic but the 7/4 favourite is in a completely mindset to previous years having openly admitted he is not enjoying playing tennis, which is evident by this huge slump in form and results since his French Open success in May.

Andy Murray is hot on Djokovic's heels in the betting at 15/8 for outright honours as well as in the race for the World number one spot.

Murray lost to Djokovic in last year's final so a victory this week or Novak failing to win will edge the Brit closer to his top spot target.

The Wolrd Tour Finals are two weeks away and Murray having won in Vienna earlier today which follows on from his China Open success in Beijing and the Shanghai Rolex Masters 1000 triumph emphasising he is the best in the Wolrd right now.

Conditions look perfect for Murray who's defences on this slow main court makes hard hitting opponents struggle to pierce through the Murray game. Only Fatigue or injury I see stopping the Murray charge to making another Paris final where opponents such as Lucas Pouille, Tomas Berdych, Sunday's Basel runner-up Kei Nishikori or Roberta Bautista-Agut unlikely to trouble Murray in the current mood and motivation shown.

The 15/8 looks priced short enough in all said and preference is for last week's selection Stan Wawrinka who could not improve on his dismal form in Basel but is worth sticking with this week where he finds Paris a much better tournament having reached the semi-finals on the back of an early exit in Basel last year where he lost out 2-1 to Djokovic in that final four encounter, and we should see another strong showing this week on the back of Basel where he will be far fresher than most.

Stan the Man will love these conditions and will get plenty of time to set himself and play his shots that will give him a huge edge compared to the quicker courts throughout the season where he enjoys far less.

The number 3 seed has an easy looking draw and can capitalise on Djokovic's beach mode mentality in the final week of a long enjoyable and profitable ATP season.

Wawrinka is 16/1 and is recommended as an each-way bet this week, meaning you would collect should Stan make the final at half the odds and the bigger prize of 16/1 and 8's should he lift the trophy.

Be careful with the firms used as Paddy Power 16/1 and William Hill 14/1 go a third of the odds. So invest with SkyBet at 16's who go a far more friendly half the odds EachWay or the 14/1 with Ladbrokes, Coral or Betway who are also firms offering half the odds.

Recommendation

ATP Paris Indoors Outright

Stan Wawrinka to win Each-Way @ 16/1 SkyBet or 14/1 Ladbrokes Coral or Betway.

(Each-Way terms 1/2 the odds 1-2 finish).
