First a quick reminder of what the ‘Blog Post Award’ is all about:
The idea is simple: Every time I find a blog post (new or old) that I think will add value for my readers, I will bookmark it and put it on my list to win the: Blog Post Award.
I will then write a post similar to this one explaining why I have decided on that particular post.
I will also link to the post from my blog post Award icon situated near the top of my side bar

Now on to the main event; The winner of my ‘Blog Post Award’ this week is from the excellent Sport is made from betting blog and is titled.
Basically Scott Ferguson the blogs owner reveals one of his favourite strategies for trying to find a profitable edge in the Betfair markets, he also puts links in his comments to a more in depth description at betting.betfair.com and a video of the strategy being put into action.
My reasons for choosing this post began to form last week when I backed a horse called Strophic as one the eachway selections that I post for my blogs readers. To cut a long story short Strophic traded as low as 1.04 on the win market for the race but by the time the race had finished Strophic did not even place, finishing in 4th place.
As you can imagine I was just a little bit amazed and slightly annoyed!!!
After I had calmed down, I decided to write a post about what had happened so that my blogs readers could hopefully learn something from my misfortune. The post generated quite a bit of debate, both in the form of comments on the post and also over at cassini's Green all Over blog, about the merits of laying off at short odds
I also started to think that if an horse can trade as low as 1.04 in the win market and still not place there must be a lot of horses that become odds on in the win market and still lose, which may be a possible profitable angle.
As good fortune would have it, shortly after I was browsing my favourite blogs when I saw the 'laying the fieild' post and I instantly knew I had found this week’s award winner.
If you have further information regarding this strategy, please share in the form of a comment.
