Top Golf Tips From Stuart Priestley: Scottish Open (European Tour), Dicks Sporting Goods Open (Champions Tour), US Women's Open (LPGA Tour)

Last Week’s Outlay 30 pts

Last Week’s Return 63 pts (+33pts)

Year To Date + 424.5

Hi All, Hope you enjoyed last week, an exiting one for us right down to the very end! The European Tour's French Open saw us bag 2 out of the top 5 come close of play on Sunday afternoon in the form of Andy Sullivan and Rafa Cabrera Bello; and baring an uncharacteristic 71st and 72nd hole from our NAP, Andy stood a great chance of nicking the title at 33/1. On top of those successes we also secured both of the first 2 positions on the LPGA Tour, with NB Brooke Henderson seeing us to victory at 7/1 with NAP Stacy Lewis chasing her home as best she could for solo 2nd, adding more profit as we went EW at 11/1. So all in all, a very good week, and the winner and 3 placed efforts saw us return over double our investment and see us back over +400 points mark for the year to date.

On to this week; for the men, a last chance to get their games into shape before next week's third major championship of the year, The Open at Royal Troon, and for the ladies they will be contesting the US Women's Open at Cordevalle, California. See below for this weeks selections and NAP reasoning:

Scottish Open (European Tour) – 10 pts outaly

NAP – Rafael Cabrera Bello 30/1 (Coral & 888sport) 2.5 pts EW

2016 has been by far and away Rafa's most consistent on tour since turning pro way back in 2005. He has amassed what is fast approaching 2 million euros and lies 3rd in The Race To Dubai Ranking; with both 1st and 2nd in those ranking not participating this week. A best of the day final round of 67 in last weeks French Open provided Rafa's 4th top 5 finish of the season, and a further six top 20 finishes on top of that really do highlight the consistency within which he is playing this year; currently sitting in 8th spot for the seasons stroke averages also further endorses this good play. This week should once again see Rafa going well, and with that final bit of luck should see him get over the line for what will be a much deserved and long overdue first victory of the season for him.

NB – Joost Luiten 35/1 (BetFred & BoyleSports) 1.5 pts EW

IWAC – Alex Noren 55/1 (PaddyPower) 1 pt EW - WINNER 55/1 1ST    EXCELLENT

*NOTE: PaddyPower are paying top 7 places for the Scottish Open*

Dicks Sporting Goods Open (Champions Tour) – 10 pts outlay

NAP – Vijay Singh 5/1 (Ladbrokes & PaddyPower) 5 pts WIN

It was only a fortnight ago that Vijay was competing on the main PGA Tour with the young guns of the game, he got out of that week with runners up cheque for $745,000, not bad for a 53 year old veteran playing mostly on the Champions Tour these days! Amazing still ranked 75 in the world, quite simply Vijay is far and away the best player in these type of fields, and should be winning almost every time he enters! This week is no different, and with confidence high after the recent finish mentioned, it's time for us to cash in.

NB – Jeff Maggert 10/1 (Bet365) 1.5 pts EW

IWAC – Rocco Mediate 80/1 (Bet365) 1 pt EW

US Women's Open (LPGA Tour) – 10 pts outlay

NAP – Lydia Ko 11/2 (BetVictor & StanJames) 5 pts WIN

In a similar fashion to my above comments regarding the Champions Tour event, Lydia Ko is a cut above the rest at the moment. Currently the closest the game of golf has to the phenomenon that was Tiger Woods at the turn of the century! There are no enough superlatives to express what Lydia Ko has done and is doing in ladies golf, and at the incredible age of just 19, it is by no means over, not by a long shot! Odds of 11/2 may seem short to some, but that me tell you with the victories she has in the bank already, inclusive of two major championships already, and another two top 3 finishes in majors, let me tell that this still is overpriced, and I was expecting something similar to that of Woods at the hight of his powers, around a 2/1 or 3/1 shot. With 3 wins to her name already in the 2016 season, including in her last start a fortnight ago, with last week off to rest and prepare, I cannot see past Lydia winning her third major of her fledgling career.

NB – Stacy Lewis 20/1 (BetVictor, PaddyPower & StanJames) 1.5 pts EW

IWAC – Gerina Piller 50/1 (Bet365) 1 pt EW

This Week’s Outlay – 30 pts

Good luck to all those following, and thank you for all of the continued kind comments and support.
